Overview
Kitefield Learning asked for a film that feels like imagination itself. Built as a fictional study, it follows a small airship and its young pilot through skies of drifting cloud and islands of warm color, gliding from one impossible vista to the next without ever touching the ground.
The challenge
Weightlessness is hard to sustain: without gravity, scenes can drift into shapelessness. Every sky needed a quiet logic — wind with a direction, color with a temperature — so viewers can follow the flight while feeling free inside it.
Our approach
We mapped the whole flight as one continuous camera move across linked cloud panoramas. A limited palette of sky blues, ember oranges and paper whites keeps every scene in the same dream, while the airship’s steady rhythm carries the eye forward.
- One continuous camera move across linked cloud panoramas
- Limited palette for a single, coherent dream
- Character acting kept simple, warm and readable
Outcome
As a fictional study, the film is an exercise in buoyant character motion: the airship's lumbering grace, the pilot's small reactions, and cloud layers that part and gather to shape each beat of the flight.
